It’s been a while since I’ve compiled a newsletter but it’s been full on the last few months. So welcome to the new website, and here is what’s happening!
I was delighted to be a part of this wonderful film directed by Steve Gukas. I spent around 7 weeks composing the music (a treat compared to the fast turn arounds I’ve had to deliver the past few projects) and for the recordings we went to Hungary to record the Budapest Symphony Orchestra at the Magyar Radio Studios. “A Place In The Stars” is the story of a father and son relationship and the clash of their life philosophies and values. Here is a small video from the recordings we did a couple of weeks ago. (Best seen in 480p)[jwplayer config=”George Kallis Settings” mediaid=”1082″]
I’ve been working with NERD TV and director/producer Kim Flitcroft (Locked up Abroad, The Bill) on the upcoming documentary series ‘Inside the Gangster’s Code’ , presented by ex-mob member Lou Ferrante. The series explores dangerous gangs in various countries and their life between prison and the outside world. We are half way through the series which will air sometime in the new year on the Discovery Channel.
The second series of My Life is airing on CBBC produced by BAFTA winning producer Kez Margrie. I was asked to revamp the opening titles music of the series, which exploares the highs and lows of a group of youngsters, providing an insight into the lives of different children across the UK.
I’ve also been writing a lot of brand music the past few months including Electro Pop for the fashion label “Juicy Couture” , epic action music for the film production company Adamantine Pictures, and piano / orchestral for the renowned printing company BGP.
